My Approach to Therapy:
AS A THERAPIST, I BELIEVE our personal experiences have a profound impact on how we perceive and interact with the world around us. We receive messages on how we should live our lives, and we learn to accommodate those messages in hopes to "fit in" with society. As an Asian gay man who grew up in Thailand, I understand the challenges of living authentically while also trying to honor the norms, values, and expectations of the community you come from.
MY WORK IS INFLUENCED BY Internal Family Systems, EMDR, mindfulness, Attachment Theory, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am a firm believer in approaching therapy through a Trauma-Informed lens, as well as utilizing a strength-based approach to empower clients o have full reign over their lives. I believe every individual is unique, and is an expert of their own lives. Hence, a core tenet in my clinical work is honoring and addressing intersectionality.
The journey toward your healing and growth can be scary but you do not have to do it alone. All you need is a flashlight to help you guide the way, effective tools to self-regulate as you do, and someone to support you along the way.
